It is proposed to redevelop the Beaumaris Yacht Club within its existing footprint to include a Marine Education Science and Community Centre at Ricketts Point. The vision is to create a not-for-profit, multi-use, environmentally friendly facility designed to foster sailing, marine science and associated community interests, that is fully accessible to people with a disability.

Council is working with the Marine Education Science and Community Centre Inc (MESAC) to investigate this proposal. MESAC is a new organisation with representatives from the Beaumaris Yacht Club, Marine Care Ricketts Point, RMIT University, Parks Victoria and Department of Environment & Primary Industries.
